Jordan Dymke is an emerging artist with a figurative-based practice that focuses on painting, drawing and creating ceramics from life. Additionally, he is motivated by imagery he collects from magazines as well as online resources. His work in the auction, Sensitive Touch, is a personal piece initially based on a Rodin ceramic. It is an earthenware sculpture of two expressive, nonuniform hands with iridescent glaze highlighting 'volcanic dust' tones. When describing this artwork, he reflected on the study of hands in his practice as a catalyst for exploring, realising and rectifying personal experience. Dymke has worked at Arts Project since 2012 and has featured in numerous national group exhibitions. His work is held in private collections throughout Australia.
