Alvaro Alvarez is an established artist whose practice centers on painting and drawing. Within the vibrant sweep of compartmentalized colour there is often an interesting juxtaposition between the painstakingly deliberate and the 'chance happening'. Not titled is no exception, the patches seemingly vibrating against one another with raw energy. Alvarez has worked at Arts Project since 2000 and presented his first solo exhibition Alvaro Going Solo at Arts Project in 2005. He has exhibited extensively in Australia and overseas and has work in the National Gallery of Australia and National Gallery of Victoria. His work is held in private collections worldwide.
