A RARE CHINESE DARK LACQUER FOLIATE DISH, SONG DYNASTY (960 - 1279)
The cavetto formed with five floral lobes surrounding the slightly sunken central medallion and continuing to the foot ring to encircle the recessed base, covered in a dark brown lacquer. It's with a Japanese old red lacquer box.

A similar lacquer dish was sold at Christie's New York, 24 March 2023, lot 1214. A much smaller example (13.7 cm in diameter) was sold at the same house, 29 November 2024, lot 1374. Another smaller dish (14.6 cm in diameter), formerly in the collection of Sakamoto Goro, was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 29 April 2022, lot 3606.

宋 褐色大漆葵口盤
盤作五瓣葵花式,內壁起棱分瓣,環繞微凹中央,延續至足內以圍繞內底,通體施深褐色漆。附日本舊配紅漆盒。
一件相類漆盤,見紐約佳士得,2023年3月24日,拍品1214;一件尺寸較小(直徑13.7厘米)者,見同場2024年11月29日,拍品1374;另有坂本五郎舊藏一例(直徑14.6厘米),見香港蘇富比,2022年4月29日,拍品3606。
