Ferret refers to Ferret, the French manufacturing workshop that produced jewellery for Van Cleef & Arpels. Many authentic VCA pieces are stamped "FERRET" because the workshop held the registered French maker's mark.
The small flower motif is a known internal Van Cleef & Arpels workshop stamp found on some pieces. Auction houses have described authentic examples as being "stamped with a flower of VCA" alongside the FERRET maker's mark.
