Mary Stevenson studied at the National Gallery Art School in 1928 and again between 1930 and 1934, where she was awarded both first and second prize for monochromatic oils in 1932. She exhibited regularly with the Victorian Artists' Society between 1936 and 1946 before presenting a solo exhibition in 1968. Stevenson's work is represented in the collection of the State Library Victoria.
