As a distinguished collector and connoisseur, he combined deep scholarship with keen market insight. His collection, encompassing masterpieces from China, Japan, and Korea, reflected both refinement and breadth, while his rigorous research advanced understanding of East Asian cultural heritage.Widely respected in the art world, Hata served as consultant for leading auction houses, museums, and academic institutions, and was often invited to speak at major scholarly conferences. His lifelong dedication greatly enhanced global appreciation of East Asian art, securing his place as a key figure in its modern history.
