The eight-day movement with deadbeat escapement striking on a gong on the hour and half hour, the Roman numeral dial, clock movement, and eight-air single-cylinder musical movement activated by a trip mechanism within a case in the form of a finely-detailed carved walnut model of a Swiss chalet on a stonework base, the movement opening the doors to the balcony below the dial to allow two figures of musicians to emerge
