A RARE CHINESE MOLDED QINGBAI OCTAGONAL VASE, MEIPING, SOUTHERN SONG-YUAN DYNASTY (1127-1368)
The vase is well potted with eight facets rising from a tapering foot to a cylindrical neck with a flared rim. Each facet is moulded with a smaller cartouche enclosing a floral spray, above a larger cartouche with undulating floral scrolls. The piece is covered overall with a pale bluish glaze that pools in the recesses, leaving part of the foot unglazed.
It's with a fitted box.
An almost identical example with smaller size (17.5cm high), sold at Christie's New York, 15 September 2016, lot 728.
