The back of the base with a square seal mark and a doulbe-gourd shaped mark. The base is stamped with seal 'Zeng Longsheng Su'.
Zeng Longsheng (1901-1964) was a celebrated potter at the Jingdezhen kilns who specialised in figural sculptures. A complete set of the Eighteen Luohan by Zeng Longsheng can be found in the collection of the University Museum and Art Gallery, The University of Hong Kong. The set was donated to the museum by Sir Kenneth Ping-fan Fung.
