In good condition, some small holes in the mane as part of the casting, retaining remnants of original lacquer and patination.

After the marble version carved circa 1594 by Flaminio Vacca for the Villa Medici in Rome, itself a companion to the Ancient Roman version in the Medici collection from the 1st or 2nd century AD.
