A rare oak hall chair, carved in the Gothic Renaissance style with acanthus leaf panels, the central back panel depicting a preening stork standing amongst bulrushes, the seat rail inscribed with the date 1898, stamped TREED & PRENZEL / STURT ST STH MELB / EUROPEAN LABOUR / ONLY beneath the solid seat.
