A Victorian papier mache work box with mother of pearl inlay
Circa 1880

The rectangular body decorated with hand painted scenic plaques and bordered by mother of pearl bands and applied gilt decoration, with a hinged lid opening to reveal a series of sewing related compartments, and a further pair of hinged doors opening to reveal a fitted interior of drawers and a folded writing plane below, 29.5 cm high.
