COLT MODEL 1860 ARMY PERCUSSION REVOLVER#
.44 calibre, 8 inch round barrel, four screw frame cut for shoulder stock, mismatched serial numbers 9396 and 9268, naval scene to chamber and 'Colts Patent No. 9395'; inspector's marks on various parts of the frame and faint cartouche to handle; with a letter from Colt to the vendor, dated 1974 regarding the guns history (a lot)


OTHER NOTES
The accompanying letter confirms that this gun was one of a shipment of 500 Colts shipped on 27 April, 1861 to U.S. Govt. representative Capt. R.H.K. Whiteley in New York and that the mismatched serial numbers on this gun were shipped together.

Please note that this lot will be on limited view during Wednesday 18th July and Sunday 22nd July, please contact department for times. To take delivery of this lot, the buyer is (a) required to hold a valid collector's firearms licence, (b) nominate an agent who holds a valid firearms licence to purchase and collect on their behalf, (c) has a valid 'permit to acquire', (d) is a registered Victorian Arms Dealer.
In the case of edged weapons, the buyer is required to be a member of an approved Collecting Club or have a 'Prohibited Weapons Licence'.
