black and white, no sound, running time approximately nine minutes, edited in the style of a newsreel, showing crowd scenes including close-ups of women's fashions, the Betting Ring, the race caller and footage of almost the entire race including Phar Lap crossing the finishing line, the film also includes 'Powlett Express Newsreel' footage of the 1933 Miss Inverloch Beauty Pageant and a steam locomotive en route to Kilcunda railway station; offered with a DVD copy of the film
