OTHER NOTES
Grey Owl was born in England as Archibald Belaney (1888-1938) and emigrated to Canada in the first half of the 20th century.
Grey Owl was the name he adopted when he took on a First Nations identity as an adult.
After meeting Gertrude Bernard (aka Anahareo or Pony) a Mowhawk Iroquois he turned from trapper to conservationist. He was a pioneer conservationist and celebrity in the 1920s and 30s.
