He was a seven year old in 1980, starting at 50-1 beating 1979 Melbourne Cup winner Hyperno and 1980 Champion Racehorse of the Year Kingston Town. Ming Dynasty was trained by Bart Cummings, who holds the record for the Caulfield Cup with seven winners.
