A FINE REGENCY MUSICAL AUTOMATA CLOCK BY JAMES SMITH, CIRCA 1790
In a mahogany case with a triple fusee movement and verge escapement, hour strike and twelve bells; the arched brass dial with subsidiary dials for tune sections and strike silent, the automated scene depicting a village market procession with musicians and noble family with hunting dogs and horns, the case with caryatid and scroll ormolu and brass mounts with red silk backed pierced frieze and brass carry handles to the sides, 33cm width x 21cm depth x 65.5cm height.
