TWO GERMAN STAINED GLASS ROUNDELS, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
One depicting the 'Annunciation to the Shepherd', the other a Knight with a lion rampant crest, 30cm and 32cm diameter, (2).
Please note: The description of 'Annunciation to the Shepherd' should read Saint Hubert "Sanctus Hubertus 1475". Hubert was Bishop of Maastricht and Liege. His conversion came about whilst out hunting on Good Friday when he saw an image of the crucified Christ between the antlers of a stag - this is the scene depicted in the roundel.
