OF AUSTRALIAN INTEREST, A SILVER PLATE 'KANGAROO' INKSTAND, WITH SYDNEY GRAMMER AND MUSICAL PRESENTATION
The inkstand by Walker and Hall London with central kangaroo figure flanked by cut crystal inkwells, with inscription 'To Sydney Moss Esq, from his grateful pupil Mario Hazon 1897.
Note: Sydney Moss was a well know teacher and accomplished musician, his career beginning with the Sydney Musical Union, choral and orchestral society and then as vice-president both of the Philharmonic Society and the Sydney Amateur Orchestral Society. Mr Hazon went on to be a Professor of English literature at the Commercial University in Milan.
