A SMALL CHINESE NINE-PEACH BALUSTER VASE 'TIANQIUPING'
CAIHUA TANGZHI HALLMARK EARLY 19TH CENTURY

The baluster vase covered by a vibrant rich yellow glaze, and decorated to the surface with nine blushing peaches on blossoming branches in famille-rose enamels, with a four character iron-red overglaze hallmark to the white glazed base.
Catalogue Note: The auspicious peach is a popular symbol of longevity. The peach design has been one of the most favoured designs in Chinese art. The hallmark 'Caihua Tangzhi' Hall of Brilliant Splendour refers to a location in the Imperial Palace during the Qianlong and Jiaqing periods.
