A HUNT AND ROSKELL STERLING SILVER MOUNTED TROPHY PLINTH, FROM THE MENTMORE TOWERS COLLECTION
inscription reads "Ascot 1867/Won by Jasper", the plinth was made for the Royal Hunt Cup, Ascot Races, 1867, silver mounted and silver plated fittings applied to the circular ebonised wooden base, maker's marks for John Hunt & Robert Roskell of Hunt & Roskell, London, 1866, 19.6cm high

Provenance: Purchased from the Sotheby Parke Bernet & Co. Mentmore Towers Collection, lot 1653, Monday 23rd May, 1977
