oblong folio, comtemporary half morocco binding, containing 60 watercolours & 5 pencil drawings, inscribed 'Fred.B. Mein/ May L. Mein/ their sketches 1891-1900' each illustration mounted on thick leaves, most intialled, dated and captioned in the image, the majority of the being scenes in teh Northweat Frontier Province (Hangu, Kohat, Desa Ismail Khan, Nathia Gali, Changli Gali) or Kashmir (Manasbal, Sumbal, Eishmakam, Lidarwat, Nagmarg), with other views of Karachi, Srinagar, Simla, Dhar, Dharya Gali and a few of the village of Finchampstead
Reference: Lt. Colonel Frederick Blundell Mein, Indian Army, served in the Second Anglo-Afghan War and in the Indian frontier campaign under William Lockhart.
