A LARGE PAIR OF VICTORIAN ROYAL WORCESTER PORCELAIN LIDDED VASES, ONE VASE INITIALLED F.R, FOR FRANK ROBERTS; THE OTHER SINGED IN FULL
ovoid, with a fluted neck, painted with a reserve of iris flowers, framed by a gilt tooled border on green ground, flanked by two dragon handles, black factory mark to base, model no. 2050, (restorations), 42.5cm high

Vase 1: initialled F.R (for Frank Roberts) to the painted cartouche
Cover: the finial has been re-attached and repainted at the area of repair and to the tip; slight unevenness to the tip
The body of the cover is in good order
Vase: neck, handles, applied dragons and foot all ring sound when tapped and in good order, apparently free from damage or repair
Heavy surface dust overall; floral painted cartouche in good order
Isolated minor scratches to green ground in places
Factory marks clear; partial paper label to the underside
Overall good order

Vase II: signed Frank Roberts in full
UV light indicated probable restoration to the heads of the applied dragons, tips of the wings and potentially to the neck; the neck rings slightly dull
Foot rings clearly
Painted cartouche in good order
Factory marks clear; old label to the underside
