the rectangular base inset with a romantic frieze on four acanthus bracket feet, surmounted by a winged Psyche perched on the clock, modelled in classical draping robes and holding a butterfly as an allegory of love, the movement is countwheel striking, eight day and key wound with a silk suspended pendulum, with key and pendulum, recently serviced, 37.5 x 28.5cm

 Overall light wear to body; figure is bright, indicating that it may have been re-gilded at some point; top section of the figure is loose, but secure 
 The clock is accompanied by a key, pendulum, and a loose piece of applied decoration that has become separated
