With two full length doors and a further half length door above five short drawers, carved with leafy eucalyptus branches and gumnuts across the upper section of the three drawers, with art nouveau inspired metal hardware, stamped ROBT PRENZEL / TOORAK RD / SOUTH YARRA / EUROPEAN LABOUR ONLY to the exterior of the left hand side of the carcass of the top left hand drawer, lacking the original pelmet, 181.5 x 203.5 x 49.5 cm
Provenance: the estate of Anne and Douglas Cairns; by family descent

Dryness to wood in places throughout; old losses and abraisons to gum blossoms
Heavy wear and surface scratches, dings and dents throughout, particularly to the front lower body, consistent with use
Light fading in places
Screw holes to the upper corners indicate that the piece may have had a pelment originally, or some other form of decorative ornamentation, now missing
Top cavity has been enclosed with ply
