Contemporary frame; relined
The work appears to have been stabilised with a restoration medium at some point in time
Extensive overpainting throughout , particularly to the lower quarter and lake in foreground, and the upper right hand quarter and trees
Medium to heavy crazing to the centre of the work, and to the sky
Full-lenght vertical line in the canvas to the right of the centre on the right hand side, indicating a likely repair
Rectangular patch repair below the staff in the figure's hand, approx 2cm x 3cm
Diagonal line running throught the head and torso fo the figure, approx. 15cm long
