Catriona Quinn, Sydney Style, Marion Hall Best Interior Designer, Historic Houses Trust 1993, illustrated pp 14, 21, 22
Designed in 1966, Marion Best quickly ordered the Platner armchairs and coffee table for her own home in Woollahra, where they sat in her Marimekko-tented courtyard. This outdoor setting was photographed by Kerry Dundas and featured in the newly launched Vogue Living in 1968, an image that cemented Marimekko, Platner saturated colour and outdoor living as emblematic of Best's late 1960s 'high style.' The Crebbins, always adventurous and taking their cues from Best, ordered the same suite in 1971.
