Of deep form, the steeply rounded sides painted in colours and gilding on the exterior with 'mille fleurs' between brocade borders and lapettes of tortoise shell and wave patterns, the interior with spiral streams of butterflies radiating from a central figural medallion, the base inscribed Dai Nippon Kyoto Matsumoto Hozan, 11.5 x 14cm diameter
