Of ovoid form decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt on a clear crackled glaze with an overall design of circular cartouche panels of flowers, Kanji characters with a further band of scrolling grasses around the base, the underside with the Shimazu family crest and signed Dai Nippon Satsuma Yaki Hyokoseki ga, 20.5cm high

overall condition good. Inconsistent glaze to underside of lid, possible signs of a repair.
