"Manzu was fascinated with erotic female figures, who were intended to titillate male viewers with a youthful sensuality. Although many of Manzu's young women and girls have names, others are nameless models whose very anonymity removes any sense of male guilt from their adoration. throughout the 1960's and 1970's. Manzu reproducted the delicate dance called "Striptease" in drawings and sculptures."
This sculpture is a variant of two, which differ by the patina
