Jane Price was an advocate of painting plein air, and painted with the artists of the Heidelberg School. She produced small 'impressionist' works in oils, with a particular interest in capturing the mood of a landscape at moonlight or early sunlight with high horizon lines as inspired by the 'Naturalists'.
