ATTRIBUTED TO OTAGAKI RENGETSU, 19TH CENTURY
Coil formed stoneware teabowl with a high foot, with an incised inscription of a waka poem to the side, covered in a clear greyish tinged glaze, signed "Rengetsu". Together with an old Japanese wooden box.

5.5cm high, 10.5cm diameter
Estimate $500 - $700
The teabowl with a small chip to the footrim, and a repaired chip to the mouth-rim. The old wooden box with small losses and old worm damage, no evidence of fresh worm activity.
