A THAI AYUTTHAYA GOLD AND SILVER BUDDHA, TOGETHER WITH A BURMESE SILVER BUDDHA, 19TH CENTURY
The Buddha in bhumisphara mudra, formed of beaten fine sheet-gold over a clay core, with incised decoration depicting the features and clothing, on a separate tall plinth base, of silver similarly worked over a clay core. Together with another Buddha in bhumisphara mudra, worked in sheet silver over a clay core, the base in the form of a lotus flower with a coiled serpent.
The gold Buddha 9.5cm high, 6cm wide. The silver base 9.3cm high, 12cm wide, together, 18.5cm high, 12cm wide. The other silver Buddha, 14cm high, 6.2cm wide.

The gold Buddha with various small dents and wear, with the ushnisha finial missing on top of the head, and small damage to one ear. The silver base of the gold Buddha with various dents and splits and small losses to the sheet silver, some lifting and curling of the sheet silver at the lower left hand front corner. The silver Buddha with various small dents and wear, one missing ear.
