29 x 40 cm
Estimate $300 - $500
After a number of years at the National Gallery of Victoria Art School, Norma Bull was awarded a scholarship that enabled her to move to England in 1939 to study at the Royal Academy in London. At the outbreak of war, she applied to become a war artist and was given a sketching permit to record bomb damage in the Bristol area. Her works that resulted from this remain her most admired and well-known. After the conclusion of the war, Bull returned home to Australia and continued practising as an artist and art teacher, choosing to depict the landscapes and seascapes, often at Anglesea and Bright.
