TWO SOUTHERN CHINESE MAONAN WEDDING BLANKETS, NORTHERN GUANGXI ZHUANG PROVINCE
19TH/20TH CENTURIES

An intricately woven panel decorated with stylized floral sprays and phoenix broken up with a band of geometric key fret decoration. The panel consisting of two joined back strap loomed strips of cotton structure. The other panel also decorated with stylized floral spray and phoenix against yellow and brick red diaper grounds inset into a indigo cotton surround.
