A FINE JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASE
HAYASHI KODENJI, MEIJI PERIOD, 1880-1895

The vase of rounded square section, worked in sculpted gold and silver wire with polychrome enamels. Finely decorated with a bird perched on an autumnal maple tree with chrysanthemums below. Scrolling foliate borders to the mouth-rim and foot with silver collars to the base and mouth. A diamond shaped mark in silver wire for Hayashi Kodenji to the base.
