Lot 77
12TH/13TH CENTURY
The standing figure of Buddha wearing a crown and jewels, a dhoti and gown, with both hands outstretched in vitarka mudra, with an all-over pleasant brown-green verdigris patina covering much of the finely chased details, visible at the rear of the figure. On a fitted black coloured wooden base.
The figure 17.8cm high, 6.7cm wide.
Estimate $2,500 - $3,500
Some degradation to the bronze to the left leg above the ankle, a very small loss to the bronze of the crown at the back of the head, the figure covered all over with verdigris encrustations, covering much of the chased details.
