The Guanyin figure seated on a lotus base, covered in red and gilt lacquer, with a sealed square plug to the reverse, carved from a dense and heavy hardwood.

Some chips to the tips of the lotus petals of the lotus base, cracking and small losses to the lacquer finish, particularly to the back of the figure. Evidence of possibly having been relacquered a very long time ago. Discolouration to the lacquer. Some general wear and scrathes to the lacquer finish. The original square plug at the back sealed and unopened.
