Late at night on 17th March 1907 the "Suevic" was navigating treachorous waters through Cornwall and miscalculated their position from the Lizard Point lighthouse, with the bow of the ship crashing and locking onto the nearby rocks.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) then began the largest rescue in it's 190-year history, saving all passengers and crew in a 16 hour mission.
