This work is in overall very good condition. Handling marks and creases throughout. One significant crease runs horizontally throughout the left hand side of the work, another crease running horizontally in the upper right hand side of the work (through the horse). Very minimal foxing is detected on the paper, one spot in particular seen in the upper left hand edge with some very faint foxing seen in centre right. A very light wave is running throughout the paper, indicating that the paper may not be glued down to the backing board. Please note that this work has not been inspected out of the frame. Work is newly framed with a fresh mount and is ready to hang.

This poster was made to advertise the illustrated art review titled 'L'Aube' (The Dawn), which started publishing in May 1896. The artist conveys a wonderful light and atmosphere, and demonstrates elements of his splattered ink technique, known as crachis, of which he was a pioneer.
