A GEORGIAN WELSH LONG CASE CLOCK
EARLY 19TH CENTURY

Having an arched hood surmounted with three eagle finials, the painted dial featuring Roman numeral dial with subsidiary dial, above rolling moon and separate date dial. The glazed door flanked by rope twist columns with gilded capitals together with another pair flanking the door of the case, the whole raised on bracket feet. 'Pontypool' to dial.
227cm high, 53cm wide, 27cm deep

Not recently timed or serviced. Comes with weights, pendulum and clock case key. Crazing to the enameled clock face along with overpainting and restoration, there is some bubbling and lifting to the rolling moon dial. There are restorations and repairs to the overall clock case, veneer is lifting in places. The veneer tile below the central eagle finial is missing. Crutch bent.
