A GREEK BRONZE 'HYDRIA' URN
POSSIBLY HELLENISTIC PERIOD, CIRCA 3RD CENTURY

Of baluster form, with egg and dart relief decoration to overted lip. The whole flanked by two handles and raised on a circular foot. The lovely patina revealing natural breaks to the fine bronze surface consistent with age.
The vase 46cm high, total height 54cm

The urn is not attached to base, the bronze is thin and fragile in areas with signs of repairs. There are white marks to the surface in places. There are also ring marks around where the handles are attached. The base has dents and scratches.
