MARTIN SHARP (1942-2013)
Blue Moon
screenprint 1/10
editioned, titled and signed below image
100 x 73cm

Estimate $800 - $1,200

Sold for $950

This artwork has some minor cockling, suggesting that this piece is not glued down. However it has not been inspected out of the frame. There are minor scratches throughout and a hole approx. the size of a pin prick above the left side of the heart. This piece is framed in a silver frame with wear to the edges. The work is a screenprint on a grey paper that has been laminated.

It appears that the work is on a thick backing board. From what we can see, the material that the print has been printed on, is completely sealed by a clear sticky plastic and this has sealed itself around the backing board as well. For us to remove the plastic to identify the medium on which the print has been printed on we would be risking the safety of the print, as there could be a possibility we could peel off the top layer of the print in the process.

In terms of the signature, the work has been hand signed by the artist. It has been done in an ink.
