"I painted 'Hold Each Other' in response to the incredible support that communities and individuals are giving as we face apocalyptic bushfires and impending ecological collapse. Each native animal in this work is the emblem of an Australian state or territory currently burning. On the ground lies the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags: symbols of First Nations' sophisticated fire ecology and land management practices. Let's help each other, hold each other and listen to those who know Country, in order to heal our charred land." - The Artist -
