Lot 95
In ancient Greek mythology, the titan Prometheus gave to mortals what was reserved for the Gods: Fire. From this point in history, humankind harnessed technology to advance civilisation to what is now contemporary society.
Prometheus IV Quartz Table Lamp illuminates space through a diffusion of quartz crystals inlaid into a ring of solid brass and grounded with a chunk of natural rock quartz that glows from within.
The rich blue-green Verdigris patina is reminiscent of gracefully aged architectural bronze and the surfaces of patinated and sea weathered monuments.
An accelerated natural transformation of surface provides a conceptual contrast to the machined, hard-edge geometric forms and LED technology used within the CHRISTOPHER BOOTS lexicon.
Estimate $6,000 - $8,000
Overall good condition with some dirt/residue to the natural rock quartz base.
