Work in excellent condition. Minimal fly spotting detected on the surface, located (1 spot) 2cm in from the right hand side. A small cluster 30cm up from the lower center and one spot 33cm in from the right middle. Work is beautifully framed in a water gilt, shadow box frame. Overall size: 96.5 x 157.5 5cm.

"I was taken to see a lot of paintings by my mother in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Streeton, Bunny, Ashton and Roberts, to name a few, transfixed me. Having grown up in the Western Districts of NSW I related to their largely rural subjects. George W Lambert's "Across the Black Soul Plains" (1899) was a quiet and insistent inspiration. I look back on those paintings with their warm gold frames with nostalgia and affection."
