In 1975, among other things, Arthur Boyd gifted a number of works to the National Gallery of Australia, including 147 original etched printing plates. These were mostly produced in London in the 1960s, but because they were not properly editioned when they were originally produced, the artist requested that the gallery produce prints from the plates, thus making them available to Australian collectors. The plates were editioned for the National Gallery of Australia by John Loane at the Victorian (now Australian) Print Workshop and are described in Imre von Maltzahn, 'Arthur Boyd Etchings and Lithographs', Lund Humphries, London, 1971
