TWO ENGLISH ARMORIAL SERVING DISHES
18TH & 19TH CENTURY

The first of lobed form, with a shell form handle. Decorated with a cobalt blue ground with vermicelli design enclosing a central coat of arms for the Thompson family with the motto, 'Dum Spiro Spero'. Signed Chamberlain's Worcester in red to reverse. The second dish, Ridgway, with a shaped silhouette, flanked by two palmetto handles. Decorated in a celeste blue ground with impressed flower motifs enclosing a central coat of arms. No marks to base.

The chamberlains Worcester dish with wear to gilding on the rim consistent with handling. Minor firing flaw on the footrim.
