Fiona Longhurst is an established artist whose work is characterised by sensitive use of colour and illustrative pattern making. Her compositions, often layered with text, are playful while maintaining a harmonious balance of intricate detail and quiet space. You get the sense that her hand is moving fluidly across the paper as the work is ardently constructed. Not titled 2019 presents more of a considered, formal structure; however, the artwork has stayed true to her whimsical style. Longhurst has worked at Arts Project Australia since 1991. She has been included in numerous group exhibitions in Australia, USA and Belgium and her work is held in private collections in Australia.
