Don't tease the special needs is an exceptional example of the collaborative work created by Richard Lewer and Eden Menta for the 2016 group exhibition 'Telltale'. As described in Lot #9, the collection included self-portraits, artists and studio staff, as well as text and titles that reflected negative statements commonly made toward marginalised people. Menta is an emerging multidisciplinary artist who has worked at Art Project since 2013. She showed with Janelle Low as part of the 2019 Ballarat International Foto Biennale. Lewer is an established artist, who received the Basil Sellers Art Award in Melbourne in 2016 and is represented by Sullivan+Strumpf, Sydney; Hugo Michell Gallery, Adelaide; and Suite Gallery, Auckland.
